Stories Exploring Faith, Doubt, and Identity

Bruce Blizard writes from over two decades of experience as a teacher and coach—exploring the challenges young people face when faith, identity, and reality collide.

As a Teacher, I Saw the Gap Between Belief and Reality

During my years teaching in southeastern Washington, I saw a recurring pattern—young people struggling to reconcile what they believed with what they experienced every day.

Many came from strong faith backgrounds, yet felt disconnected when faced with real-world challenges—doubt, pressure, failure, and isolation.

The institutions meant to guide them often felt distant or rigid. And as a teacher, I wasn’t always able to bridge that gap.

That realization stayed with me.

Over time, I found a different way to engage these questions—through storytelling. My books explore themes often left unspoken: doubt, grief, redemption, and the difficult path toward personal truth.
